G'day,
Havent been around for a while because I got my old Rover Colt ride on mower going and then gave it to an old friend that has problems pushing a mower around his large yard since he had a stroke, so now he rides around and gets it done with no problems. Anyhow, the main reason I am back is because I have just picked up another ride-on which is in almost new condition, it was only used about 5 or 6 times before the guy parked it up and didnt worry about it, after it had a problem with the clutch that drives the blades. It is a wolf-garten scooter, model SV4, type no 6155000,serial no A-10005386 with a Tecumseh 60 engine. I am having trouble finding any info on this brand, as it seems no-one in Sydney sells them any more. There is only one distributor that I can find in Australia, and they are down in the ACT. Can anyone tell me anything about this brand and whether they are a good mower worth fixing up or is there a reason no-one distributes them anymore? I guess what I am asking is, is this clutch problem a common one which will need constant repairs, considering it failed after only 5 or 6 uses? I cant seem to find anybody else that has even heard of them. Any advice or help would be appreciated. Thanks.

bigboppa,

We are a dealer of wolf products but have never sold that unit (from memory I do think they had some issues) but I will speak to the supplier and see what information I can get in regards to the clutch system as well as parts list and manual. cheers2

Hi Bruce,
Thanks, That would be great, it is a great little unit and works fantastic except for that clutch. Nice compact little unit with catcher and all, looking forward to using it on the lawn.

Hi bigboppa and welcome back to the site.....I bet you will notice a few changes since you were last here. grin

Russell, I have never seen a Wolf Garten ride-on, would it be possible to post some pics for us to have a look at, because a lot of our members have probably never seen one either. wink

Hi deejay66,
Yes I will take a few shots and email them to you, although I wont get a chance before the weekend, due to long working hours this week. In the meantime if you go here you can see a picture of it, mine is the scooter SV4 (the top one) if you click on it you can get a 360 deg. view of it. It is a great little unit, compact and surprisingly comfortable to ride, with a catcher and all, all I gotta do is get that dang clutch fixed!

Sorry guys, havent had a chance to take any pics yet, been busy and the wet weather hasnt helped, but I will get some shots as soon as I get time to scratch myself. Say, Bruce, did you have any luck tracking down any info on the mower? I havent had too much luck myself.

I finally got time to take a few shots of the ride-on, I just hope this works, I always seem to have problems posting pictures to forums.
