From memory, the jets can be identified from the number of rings on their face? I'll take a look at my book and get back to you.
Funny you mention the different noise from PT motors. My trusty Gumtree special ate a bolt and hasn't quite been the same since. Now that I have finished my Scott Bonnar I'll have a decent look at it, but that motor was a gem. Revved like a have always remembered. It's on a Commando from about 2001, and seems to run faster than the red one I salvaged for my sister in law. I figured it was because it had a bigger intake pipe and straight through intake from carby to port.
However, after it ate the bolt, I went to the mower shop ready to join the world of 4 stroke mowers. LUCKY FOR ME they had only two brand new Commando 2 strokes left. A steal at $450 especially when I was prepared to drop twice that on a Kawasaki powered Masport. I brought it home fully expecting it to rev like my old one, but it didn't. It has a smaller snorkle, but still straight through from the carby to intake port. Perhaps all the old ones I've used have had air leaks?! 😆
