Yes I had a read through that post and well I know my mower from new had that wavy washer installed for the carby and it also has the exact same carby as the one featured in the article which I have added with this post.
Also that article featuring the exact same carby as on my mower was from November 1978. And in that article it was saying that to simplify ordering and stock quantities, only one carburettor assembly will be supplied as replacement of G4 and LM carburettors, and that is the one featured in this article. Well that's the exact same carby on my 1982 full crank Commando fitted from new.
Maybe they fitted these idle screw G4 carbies to the full crank engines right up to the early 80's?
Then they only fitted the non idle screw LM carbies to the new powertorque engines from 1984 and onwards?
It's a bit of a mystery...lol
