MF I have tested 5 of the mowers I picked up yesterday and everyone of them either revs hard or switches off on the kill switch. What I can't work out is why some don't do this, I get the odd mower that works perfectly. The rest, the only way I can get them to come back to an idle and not rev its guts out is to do the carby mod to them, then they are fine. The ones that work fine I'm not game to pull apart because I know I will not be able to see anything different and then I have to do the carby mod and that always takes me a couple of hours to get it all sorted.
Another thing I tried this morning for kicks and giggles was fitting a black popped from a G4 carby in one of my modified carbys. It wouldn't work and this is what I found ages ago when I first started modifying these carbs. I put in a white one and no problems. These black poppets obviously worked because Victa made a gazillion of them
