PATENT - The G4 Lawnmower Carby
The G4 Lawnmower carby was not a Victa invention. They were the 'assignee'
(they bought it) from two Australian inventors: William Henry Steele and
George Nejtek.

The object of the patent (filed in 1973) is most revealing.
The objectives were:-
- Reduce exposed moving parts
- Reduce exposed orifices
- Remove the cost and complication of a mechanical governor
- Add a pressure sensitive capsule, for integral carburettor governing

The original patent does not appear to cover an important innovation -
the incorporation of the throttle cable inside the intake snorkel. That was
a great feature for protecting the throttle cable from snagging on obstructions.
By way of a feature-less observation, there appears to be no means of priming
the carby with fuel in the original patent. This was originally promoted by
Victa as a feature. A season or so later we had a primer bulb ...
