Hello
ODK History Lovers
In the 1980s Victa was still an innovative company.
I date this
full-colour, full-range brochure to
1983-84. This was the season that
Victa produced its 4,000,000 mower, and the then Prime Minister, Bob Hawke, re-
leased the
Victa Vortex, claimed to be six times quieter than other rotary
power mowers.
By 1984-85, the new
Power Torque engine would be fitted across the model range.
In this 1983-84 brochure, that is not the case, with a few models still powered by
the legacy 160cc full-crank engine. Note the expanded range from
Qualcast UK (introduced to the Victa range in 1982) and, specifically, the Victa
Rotamo
This is from my collection, and I have remastered parts because someone
had circled (in red pen) various products. Here are some highlights
of that brochure. I make available (for download) the full brochure (in Part Two).
