Thankyou for that Jonesy, it's great to have an image of the carby completed, with the air filter, and the markings you have noted are something I will compare to my records, very interesting info indeed.

This also helps with evidence showing the production life and variations of the 3FI, Bluegmhtmonaro's one dates back to the Brass Nut design of the 3F, so we know it was in priduction from very early on in Victa's history, likeley it ran along side the Brass Nut 3F, as I doubt the 3FI would have been made using this mount after the failure, and removal of it from the 3F. The diagram matches yours, but as variations have sometimes been observed between the diagrams and actual production, it is confirmed by the match with your model, which indeed appears to have the small standard inlet mount, such as that of a model 5.

Also, I'm noticing that there appears to be no variation to the air intake mount on your model, when viewed in comparison to the diagram, however, if it is an option for you, I would love to see a picture of the carby with the air filter removed.

From what we have here, it seems the 3FI may well have started back in the early days of the Brass Nut, and continued as far as the model 5 and beyond.

I'm curios as to weather a large intake port model was made, and if so did it simply become another amendment to the 3FI, or did the 3FI follow the name style at this point, and like the 3F become the 3LI.

Cheers
Ty
