Rodeobob i used 2 use link belts in 60's on potato pealing/ washing machine when as a kid to help out in fish & chips cafe, had a leather links with metal link to join together. when it got 2 loose I'd take out a link. I'd after the potato's came out I'd cut them into chips on a pull down lever through a cutting screen into chip shapes.
There are now new types as you can see if you type in linkbelt on google.mixed reviews on the belt.
