As I said in my post was to tap it not whack it because the bolt has a half moon cut out in it which catches on the shaft when you do it up.

My next suggestion is to go around the housing where the bolt is and TAP it not whack it and all going well it will release. Note that you might have to use a tyre lever or a screw driver to try to lever the housing while tapping it. cheers2
