Hello ODK history lovers
New Zealand’s Ivory Brothers Limited were so well know they
should be considered a Kiwi institution. They were one of NZ’s
three major importers of small horticultural and agricultural equipment.

They were also manufacturers in their own right.

Ivory Brothers entered the lawnmower market in about 1954,
in acquiring the C.V. Crowe patents and designs for lawn and
slasher mowers.

They seem to have quickly produced their Rotomoa
branded range of mowers after that.

This post topic covers a studio photograph of the Rotomoa Suburban
domestic rear- catcher lawn mower. The image is undated but
I think it presents as a mid-to-late 1950s mower image.

Here is a contemporary advert for the Suburban.
I think this is the closest to the CV Crowe patent of 1954.
