Hi all,

So I finally fitted a new motor to my machine, a sheared clutch bolt that I haven’t been able to remove yet made the decision a little easier. I split the clutch and will get around to removing the clutch half off the old Briggs when I have some spare time. I bought a new 3/4” clutch half and a 4hp ZS/Predator motor. This was about the only thing available locally, and I like how it fits the 17” machine nicely. I know I may have spare parts problems in a few years but it seems well built and runs well at the moment. I have done 3 mows with it so far (just done an oil change after approx. 1 hour, and will do another change after approx. 5 hours). It has transformed the mower, it’s so much smoother and starts first pull now. I may report back down the track on the engine if anyone is considering one. If it proves somewhat reliable, I might bolt one on to my old Pionex edger with the same 80202 Briggs.

Cheers,

John
