Sorry I am not sure how the switch comes out but I would be more inclined to suspect the solonoid switch than the actual switch. Trace the heavy wire from the battery up under the dash area and it will lead you to the solonoid switch Then you will have to work out how to remove it but disconnect the battery first. Then come back and we will see if we can help from there. Often removing the dash is not an option because it requires removal of the steering wheel and that can be problematic
