If ever there was a lawnmower equivalent to the Ford
Edsel it would be
the
Victa Model 4 Automatic.
Its over-complex mechanical governing system - the
Predicta -
was a rushed job in matching the two-stroke mechanical governors
being introduced at this time. Here I mention the revolutionary
Villiers 7F.It may have been a matter of pride - or competition - or animosity - but
there was a falling out between Victa and Villiers over engine supply
to Victa in the early Victa days.
Whatever the reason, the Victa 4 Automatic Specification thread remains
one of ODK's most viewed posts.
