For anyone who's ever wondered what the go is with the numbers stamped on later Series 70, and series 80 cylinder heads, it turns out this number is supposed to match the serial number prefix (Production Number) on your engine!

This is going to mean some serious checks for my collection!!!

Hi to All,
This is correct....I have just checked my Victa Tilt -A -Cut, full crank 160 cc Series 80
(although in reality it is probably a late series 70) and the Production Number is 090 stamped
into a raised (almost serrated) area on the head to the left of the plug... I then checked the
number stamped on the crankcase....090 1308.

So the head is original to this edger....All good. woot
Thanks Ty, this is a great tip. grin
