I started a thread about moving the engine from this machine into another machine but I've had a closer look at this and it's in quite good condition except the pull cord at the side of the machine doesn't work properly. It struggles to give a clean pull and just jerks along so that you can get about 6 to 12 inches before it jams up. I can see the plastic pinion gear inside and it all looks ok but you don't get a decent pull out of it. Sparks alright and compression feels good, any idea what needs to be replaced here.

Couple of bolts take the pull starter off n put another on lol. Should pull the motor off an give the deck a good clean up

Put the torch on the starter and can't see any broken gears, everything looks ok, do you know if these starters are easy to find?

Yep they shouldn't be hard to find at all. Time to start sourcing for your local scrap metal dealers. You need some parts for your mowers.
