Picked up another mower last weekend, a Greens mower with 2 stroke villiers engine. Came with catcher.

Mower didn't need much work. New throttle cable and O rings on the fuel tap. Is missing original air filter though. Gave it a clean and its as in the photo. As for painting, I prefer to leave my mowers looking used/original, as long as paint isn't to far gone.

Mat,

What type of air filter?

Can you post some more pictures with different angles as I might be able to track down the filter. cheers2

Hey Matt, that's a great find, especially in such original condition with the catcher; as many vintage mowers have lost their catcher and almost impossible to replace. wink
Is the reel and bottom knife blade in good nick?

Bruce.
I put a Uni filter on it that will do the job for now, although i would like to find an original type. I will take some pictures of the carb.

Darryl.
Reel and bottom blade are in good nick. I have used it to mow my front lawn. I found a picture of an original one to compare to. Mine is missing a cover that goes over the mower base, it hides the chain drive. Its also missing 3 wood rolers that go between 2 metal rollers. It still mows OK without the wood rollers.

Bruce.
Here is a photo of the villiers carbie where the air filter screws on. The OD of the thread is about 28mm. If you can track one down for me that would be great.
Thanks.
Matt.

So is it a filter or just a piece of mesh to keep out the big stuff.

Hi Bruce, What an unusual looking mower, I've never seen one like it before, what's its history, as I'm sure the members would like to know? wink
