Hi Ken I assume you are talking about the vertical shaft ones, I have fitted a couple and so far they seem to be working fine, haven't had any complaints

Hi Norm, I was thinking about putting a 3hp horizontal Rato on a SB 17" for a client as a new Rato is cheaper than Briggs & Stratton rebuild and the Rato has 12mths warranty
I haven't used a Rato engine before so I might give one a go and see how they fair Cheers Ken

Hi Ken I hadn't seen their horizontal shaft motors but the vertical ones I have used have worked well and they are so cheap for a vertical shaft at $160 for a small ride on

Hi Norm, Rato make horizontal a side valve model 3hp for $130 and a ohv model for $160 cheap as chips with 12mth warranty
