Hi forum members and others!

I've been chasing, for some time now, a Victa utility base which has the fuel tank mounted on the handle bars. I think they called them the "utility pro" or something.

Preferably in the full crank version. The condition I'm not too fussed about, as in I don't care about rust, dirt, engine, no engine but having a working fuel tank would be ideal.

I've attached some pictures to help jog the memory.

I'm located in Airport West, Melbourne.

Thanks in advance.

Nolan

Hello Nolan

I'm glad you're taking an interest in these.
Because they were part of the Professional range, they are less
likely to survive today. Domestic mowers stand a better chance.

My best guess is that these were originally named the Super Utility,
but later became the Professional 460.

I hope a member will be able to help.

Hi Nolan they come up from time to time, you just have to follow ebay and gumtree or hard rubbish. A mate of mine picked up a couple from the side of the road and I repaired them for him over the last six months and we were discussing them last night and he prefers the full crank one to the one with the Powertorque on it. It is hard to get the actual reason why from him though, I think it is probably because he has a full crank on his 24
Here is one I just spotted , it is a PT but they are still very good.

Thanks Norm and Cyberjack for taking the time!!

Cyberjack,

YES! Thats exactly what I'm after. Hopefully a member can help out.

Norm,

I've spied that one on gumtree also, however, it s not the model type I'm after!! I've done up a few utilities in the past (both full crank and power torque) and they have all had the fuel tank in the plastic cowl. I'm after the model type with the fuel mounted up on the handle bars.

I don't know why I love them really. I just like the tough, no nonsense, all business look of them!

I've been on the look out for this type for a while now. And would really like one to do up and keep for myself.

Thanks guys.

Sorry Nolan I didn't look at the tank, all the ones I have had have had the tank mounted in the bars. If you want a real no nonsense slasher then have a look at a 24, they are my favorite

I'm looking for a Victa utility base suitable for a PowerTorque.......
I'm asking mower shops, one said they would just put a 4 stroke motor on one and resell.
Anyway keep looking, as I mow a couple of heavy duty lawns.........and turn grass into lawn............
Whipper snip the edges and they look... loved......

And I went to all the trouble of welding a F/C center into a P/T base a couple of months ago so I could get rid of a F/C motor I had sitting here

Nolan, not sure where you are but there is one of the sidethrows with a powertorque on it on facebook for free down Grantville way, it has the fuel tank you want, runs ok, bit to far for me to grab it
