Today i have started it up 3 times. 2 times it started up first pull and ran really smooth, no missfires. so i turn it up to a speed for good cutting and it still goes okay. but when i really start to tharsh it it blows alot of smoke and then dies.

What colour smoke does it blow when you put it under load?

It blows a micture of white and black smoke. just now at 9:30 here in melb it is very cold. i would say around 5 degrees. i started up the mower to see how it would run on a cold engine.

Ran like a dream!!!!! no missfires, started second pull very niceley and didnt run rough. why would it have problems running on a warm engine?

It sounds like it could be a mixture problem.

When you (from cold) push the throttle from slow to fast does it hesitate?

Also how did you set the mixture jet after replacing the diaphragm?

Did you follow the directions in the packet when replacing the diaphragm?

I have not replaced the diaphram yet. the mixture screwis just about a half a way out i think. the engine dosent hesitate when i try and turn it up.

I would suggest that you replace the diaphragm and then we look at what else should be done.
