Hi Guys, Just a short note of introduction. I am now well and truly retired and live in Tassie. I have owned Turner mowers for nearly 50 years, purchasing a second hand one in 1969. That mower kept going ( with various changes) until about 10 years ago when my wife bought me a new Rover. I then passed it onto my son who used it until he got a new mower a few years ago. The old mower has sat in his shed until a couple of months ago when I decided to get it back from him, and have a go at cleaning the old girl up a bit. Having found some bits and pieces at the local Tip, I now have 2 Turners mowers, 2 spare engines (1*4 stroke & 1* 2 stroke), 1 base and a few odds and sods. I am not a mechanic but would love to restore these two great machines as best I can! Cheers Paul

Hi P_T (like those initials as a friend has them!),
could we see some piccies? I was a little disappointed TBH but loved the story behind it.

Good to see another one who has this interest.

Ahh, if only victa had kept producing the thumblatch catcher series, they would be in better shape today!

Hi MF, When I get a chance I will post a couple of photo's. I mower is complete ( the original ) and the other is having some transplants done before I start any restoration work. Cheers, Paul

Hello Paul_Tassie
A warm welcome from me too!

There is a lot of info on Turners here.
They were one of the big players in the 1960s and their designs
have gone under-appreciated.

I hope these great forums will be of use.
