Join the club! there isn't much info on the domestic range, I've never seen a parts list/brochure anywhere. Great simple machines though.

The FG Falcon of mowers. Great products, but the makers don't seem to want anybody to know.
Ahh, if only victa had kept producing the thumblatch catcher series, they would be in better shape today!

Hello coolrussy, nath, and Mowerfreak Yes, not recorded that well at all.
I'll get a History Record going shortly. It will include a parts and operator manual and a couple of brochures.

The leftist media doesn't report that this is the sort of BS Donald Trump is putting a stop to in his nation. And for a Greenfield dealer (If I read that right) to be steering people away from their own products is disgusting and inexcusable. He needs to be reported to head office pronto.

Sorry MF what Head Office would he report this activity to seeing Greenfield closed their doors a couple of months ago. Coolrussy I can assure you that Jack will be all over this for you as he also is the proud new owner of a recently purchased Greenfield pushy.

G'day allI think responsibility goes to loyal dealers and loyal consumers... folks loyal to selling and buying Australian. When was the last time we had a 'buy Australian' campaign? Since the 1980s, successive Australian governments have embraced globalization. This has resulted in cheaper lawnmowers, but at what a high price! I can assure you that Jack will be all over this for you as he also is the proud new owner of a recently purchased Greenfield pushy. Thanks Norm. My inner terrier is emerging ... Evening Jack Russell et al, Why have a 'Buy Australian' campaign. It seems there is stuff all Australian made left to buy or sell. Sigh. With extraction industries aside, the only thing we have left to offer the world is our agriculture industries. Problem is, at a government policy level we are making a ham fisted mess of that as well! I fear the Greenfield distribution arrangements and the sales strategy of the 'Pushy' will always remain a mystery. Cheers,

Talking to my grandfather part of the problem with the greenfield pushies was cost, They only sold maybe 5 over 10 years out here. Between Honda, Masport, Rover, Victa and all the others they didn't really stand a chance. The alloy deck was very nice, but then putting a dirty old Briggs only on them probably steered people in the market for a higher end mower to Honda. Now having one here they definitely are a well made unit though

prd, we are not even smart enough to be able to sell baby formula to China, but the black market can, go figure.

Ok so I put the Greenfield up on the bench today to survey what it was all about. Much to my disbelief the blade carrier is welded to the boss and it certainly looks factory and is a square blade carrier. Anybody want to guess how I am going to have to remove this?

Ok so no suggestions, my plan is to cut a square hole around the boss with the grinder, then with the blade carrier out of the way I can get the puller over the boss and remove it. It was just something I couldn't believe. Another odd one I came across yesterday was a Stihl Viking push mower with a 1 inch shaft. The owner claims to have bought it new many years ago and had always been serviced by the dealer. I was staggered to find 7 washers inside the blade boss to get the blade bar 11 mm lower. That normally wouldn't surprise me what did surprise me was that he claimed it had only ever been serviced by the dealer

G'day Norm The joining of a blade holder to the boss seems quite poor - and stupid. A disappointing design. Thanks for helping others here. ---------------------------------------- Jack

Yes I was very surprised Jack, I haven't come across that before. It came off ok, I just cut a square around the boss and then I was able to get it off with my puller

Ok I'll brace myself, is CyberJack's pride and joy so designed? If so, preventative maintainance will be all the more important.

MF I would be extremely surprised if that was the case, this Greenie I have is obviously quite old as it was fitted with a vertical pull Briggs. Another thing which caught me out was once I had destroyed the Briggs blade carrier and removed the boss, only to discover it had a 1 inch shaft. Second one in 2 days. With all my dead Briggs before I dump them in most cases I cut the boss off and then if I ever need a boss it is easy to just put it in the press and pop the shaft stub out. Looking though them all not one 1 inch one in there. Luckily I was able to come up with a fix
