Hi, I have a victa 2 stroke powertorque engine that im trying to get going. When starting smoke comes out of the decompressor and the engine wont run correctly.
I removed the decompressor and the valve moves in and out easily and the unit is clean. The mower will only run well when i substitue it with a spark plug. Is the engine at fault? or the decompressor? the engine has strong compression and doesnt blow smoke. If i plug off the decompressor would it harm the engine in the long run?

Hey Dristo i dont know too much about your problem but can you dismantle your decompression valve ?. I have one with 3 little clips on it and when you pull them off you can pull the whole thing apart and give it a clean. but on the powertorque models i noticed they dont have that anny more. maybey the filter elemnt is completley witherd away.

To tell if the decompressor is faulty put a piece of fuel line on the top outlet and suck on it then block the tube with you tongue, if it dose not hold the valve closed the decompressor is faulty. cheers2
