Big wheels, big chasis, motor will be good as I have another if hat doesn't come up. and that will be big power..
Even with a fitted kill switch. at $5 I love these mowers and I;m not banging my head against the wall...........

Good day speedy,
I have taken to that style of top. I found one and it really freshened up my mower.
The body looks alright too.
Do you have a pic showing the side of the Rover with the rear wheel in view? They look similar to Victa's.

Ahh, if only victa had kept producing the thumblatch catcher series, they would be in better shape today!

Hi MF,
The wheels are rover held on with a nyloc nut.
It's missing the bar that holds front and rear axles.......

I had to have some success, so I took the starter apart, put a new cord in another starter I had as this had siezed nut,,,,,,
Cleaned carb, put another O ring, put another big O ring in the startder., good spark....compression.
I waterblasted the whole unit as this cleans best....put new hoses
onShe started third pull.. mowed a bit...... I'll have to sharpen blades and get cutting level running.......
It has just been left outside for its short life......
I might paint it orange if it proves itself over a few mows.......

If you can't get something going........... do something NEW..... cheers speedy

Hi Speedy, the Vixta looks Tornado to me the wheels, top cowl and the badge area at the front to me means a 19 inch cut and a long shaft PT motor. The bases on these are fairly prone to rust because the pressed base seems thinner and they get dents from stones easily. Apart from that they are a great mower

It's a VS160 Norm. Yes it looks like a Tornado, with extended carb intake manifold. A Chinese PT.
Nice kill switch up high, works well. I should paint it.
cheers

Hi Speedy, the kill switch is a bit over the top don't you think.I have done a couple by running a single wire up inside the snorkel and just use the throttle lever to earth it out, works very well

Yes maybe, but it works and is in place.
That Rover is a Easymow Mulch 'n Catch with VariTilt system.
The guy who gave it to me took the VariTilt bar, as that's all he needed.......... now I need one.
I will check if the motor goes first and then bodgee something......................

The BS motor came up good. It showed no spark, but dirt and metal filings can cause taht. I brew it all clean, sanded the flywheen a but, cleaned carb and tank, .It started using the Bosch electric drill starter.....
I bodgeed a Victa rod onto it with wire and wood. Just to try it out.
Worked well, the self propelled drive works well. sharpened the 4 blades, mowed the back law.....
Now I'll bodgee a good conrod for between the axles and put starter ferule in and it will be OK.

I have never seen a Victa rear axle rusted in the bushes and seized...,anyway I knocked the rust off and it works now to raise and lower cutting height.
This $5 mower is now my favourite mower....................... not selling....
cheers

I just had to get the holes in place so wheels were same distance under mower base.. And clear the base. It's a Victa handle.
It worked...

Speedy, I have come across a couple of Victas with the rear axle rusted solid, it is often on the Tornados because the clever man who came up with that design put the axle on the inside of the mounting bar not on the outside as all the previous models were. All the clippings are thrown straight onto the shaft

Geez, talk about a new low in engineered obsolescence. Hate to think how it will be under it's American owners.
Americans specialize in saving every penny on production and engineering life spans into their widgets.

G'day folks,
Yep, the 'one ring' jets were used on the 125cc [and 85cc] full cranks; but there are are/were a couple of even lower flowrate ones available.

4 different jets for the LM carby:

Speedy/ Gadge with all the main jets I have handled I can't recall seeing one with the rings on it, it would have caught my attention. Were these used only in the G4's or the LM's as well. I don't use the jets with the tube on them that the G4 used

G'day Norm,
These were LM only jets, with the 'nose' extending past the thread - the G4 jets didn't have that. Maxwestern's post link above shows a chart that includes what specific applications the 2 and 4 ring jets were used in.

There were only two G4 jets as far as I can find out; the CR03459A single cylinder one with chamfered edge to the head, and the CR03460A Twin
version which had a square edge.

The first series G4 jet, the CR03405A, was very quickly superseded - that one didn't have the final screen.

Cheers,
Gadge
