I haven't found out why this collection is here, must have been rusty bases or worn out wheels. I thought it was a collection of Powertorque tops but the covers are still on the motors

Last night, at about the time you posted this, I was contemplating whether to throw out a powertorque top I have painted twice, to match the mower I mounted it onto, only to eventually find the original type. In the end, I decided against it as I have only one other spare cover and I can even use the plastic support underneath and the screws one day.
Talk about a sea of 1980s PT tops!! I'd love to have that FC top.

You can probably build another two or three using the other bits.

So who's actually the hoarder ??

I live a 24 Hour lifestyle, but every now and again I seem to fall asleep, well at least that's what my wife tells me.

OK BB you got me, but I can fairly quickly sell 5 of the mowers off for more than I paid for the lot, I haven't counted the carbys but probably at least 10 and I am always struggling for some of the bits so each carby is worth a min of $10 to me, cam, float and poppet cost me way more than that if I have to buy them. Also in the pile is 17 PT motors, should get a few runners in that lot as well. Then I can sort through the rest and dump what I don't want. Gives me something to do for a few days

At least NormK is moving them on in a steady flow and keeping it under some kind of control.
Having a trailer sure is handy for your hobby. Have you thought of attaching a cage so you can fill it like a Christmas stocking with even more mower stuff?

At least your vice has gone to a good cause in saving countless Victas from the metal munchers and spreading (hopefully) awareness on how capable they are and finding ways to chip away at their few minor bug bears. Victa arte not making any more of these marvellous two strokes, so supply will inevitably dwindle as the masses needlessly abandon them.
They are tomorrow's Valiant Charger.

MF I have tested 5 of the mowers I picked up yesterday and everyone of them either revs hard or switches off on the kill switch. What I can't work out is why some don't do this, I get the odd mower that works perfectly. The rest, the only way I can get them to come back to an idle and not rev its guts out is to do the carby mod to them, then they are fine. The ones that work fine I'm not game to pull apart because I know I will not be able to see anything different and then I have to do the carby mod and that always takes me a couple of hours to get it all sorted.
Another thing I tried this morning for kicks and giggles was fitting a black popped from a G4 carby in one of my modified carbys. It wouldn't work and this is what I found ages ago when I first started modifying these carbs. I put in a white one and no problems. These black poppets obviously worked because Victa made a gazillion of them

As you know, I have one with hopeless throttle control, but it starts and stops and doesn't overrev when on max throttle. I'm happy enough with that not to dismantle, unless I decide to do your mod on it, which I may do.

Now I have to make up a test bed so I can quickly bolt a motor to it and see if it will run, then I can write on it what the status of each motor is. Must be close to 50 motors there now. Still not sure how to make it up yet.

Any old Victa base can be a test bed.

MF too slow and too much work picking the up and putting them down, I want them to be at least knee high and just clamp them to a bench, I'm thinking of a scissor type clamp bench so I can slide the motor in with the blade carrier bolted on,clip on the test bed carb with a fuel bottle hanging on the handle the snorkel is bolted to. Shouldn't take too long to set something up today.

Yes true, but owning a tray top Hilux is even better. It's called a trailer with a donk.

Cheers.

No, it's the 5 speed manual, as I never got the option to do that.

The way I bought it was by putting a $3000 proxy bid on it 7 years ago never expecting to get it and at the end of the day I got home to find an email saying congratulations on winning the 2001 Hilux. Back then it was a $7000 vehicle and I felt that after cleaning it up I could flip it for a tidy profit.

But I started using it and just haven't looked back and to this day I've still got my trusty super clean Hilux with the 3RZ engine that's now done well over 300,000 K's now and is my go anywhere vehicle while the Holden Wagon sits in the garage and gets used every now and again.

I've never needed a trailer again and as such I'm about to sell it and crib back some space in the back garden and save myself some unneeded rego that the Government gets every year for absolutely nothing. The other thing is that if one does a deal of sorts I can just say "we'll just put straight on the back of the ute" and seal the deal opposed to going home and diggin' out the trailer that's usually full of crap and by that time the seller has decided he can get more money elsewhere and the deal falls over.

Easy Peasy !

The few times I've hired them, I have found the big four very satisfying to drive, both in manual and automatic form. It has a kind of elastic sensation in its power delivery that I like.

And BB now it will cost $3000 just to put a new set of injectors in the Hilux, that was when I got very angry with Toyota, don't mind paying for things but that is outright criminal

Thanks Norm. I'll stick with an AUII Falcon on duel fuel thanks. That's absurd.

Picked up a couple more in the last 5 mins about 50m from home, didn't even have to start the car up. One is a Rover with a good catcher I can put on a high arch and the second one looks to be in good condition and with good wheels, and an unbroken catcher, what a bonus.
