PART TWO - The BrochureThis booklet is from my collection and it is in poor-to-average condition,
having suffered water damage at some time. This has made scanning results
less than ideal. It has
24 pages and presents colour images.
New to the 1982 range would be the increase of warranty period on the Victa
engine. Introduced for the 1981 Range, the Super-Start electronic engine
feature would enable Victa to offer a
two-year engine warranty for 1982.
The most significant new model for 1982 would be the
Victa Commando. I say this because this was Victa's first
pressed steel deck for the modern era.
That is historically significant - because it permitted Victa to re-introduce a
mid-priced Victa mower range. A decade earlier, Victa did this with the high-arch
/ low-arch range; now, it could do it with the high-arch cast alloy bases (premium),
and the high-arch pressed-steel bases (mid-range).
The Victa range in 1982 included: the Powerplus, the Mustang, Corvette, Commando,
Utility, Commodore, Charger, Lancer, Electric 400, Electric 460, Self-Propelled
Professional 460, 550 and the Super 600. Other products would include the Victa
Tilt-a-Cut, Victa Tillers (imported), Victa Trim-A-Round range of Edgers (imported),
the Tilt-a-Cut edger, Victa Ride-ons (imported), Victa Shredder and Bagger, and ...
the Victa Garden Buggy.
