Ok so the post hole digger saga continues. The 2 post hole diggers got pinched out of his trailer so I got him a new one from ebay. This one worked sort of ok, I think it is probably a bit underpowered, and a few weeks ago he brought it back because he couldn't get it started. I put a new carby on it and it fired up fine. I started it up half a dozen times and it seemed fine, then after I had given it a rev I let it come back to idle and it stopped abruptly with a noise that didn't sound good. I have not been able to get a peep out of it since, it has spark, but I'm thinking the flywheel key may have sheared and the timing is now off. Any other thoughts?
Throw away and get another motor? What capacity is it? I have a 26cc off one of those cheapo clutchless bent shaft string trimmers, sitting on the floor of the garage waiting to be attached to something as it runs fine. It looks to be a Chinese copy of the Mitsubishi TU26.
Ahh, if only victa had kept producing the thumblatch catcher series, they would be in better shape today!
This is a 66cc should have got an 86cc , just annoys me that it stopped the way it did, I will pull it apart but the only thing I can think of is the timing is off, can't get a peep out of it with starter fluid
Lol NK I hope it isn't simply a case of leaving the switch to off. Has caught me out a few times. That's why I prefer a spring loaded switch. PS: I should have re-read the original post. Sorry.
