Hello CJ & Gizmo, can someone enlighten me on the faults immediately apparent to some on this machine and it's price point? I quite like it's rugged basic used look, but obviously not the asking price. At least this can be used without worrying about spoiling it's finish.
Ahh, if only victa had kept producing the thumblatch catcher series, they would be in better shape today!
Wrong starter pulley, throttle control, wheels, fuel tap, muffler,Victa badge, snorkel, throttle cable, air cleaner, starter cord ,starter handle and it should have a two piece spark plug.
It's not very original like the owner says in the ad "original very early model ever manufactured" it's the last of the Rotomo model two.
The engine number is in the 99,000 range so this model would have the Victa poly wheels.
In fairness, it appears that there's some issue with that Pro active value page - most of his previous sale prices for his overpriced products are exactly 10% of what the current buy now price is.
That means the last one sold at around what the ODK shop has the equivalent cap for.
But even $20 is dear for that tap timer - when you can get one for $10-12 at Bunnings.
Yes the tap timer is worth around $12 and it sure looks like .proactiVValue can't get the decimal point in the right spot and then this user click link here activvalue is $120. for the same tap timer.
It's also amazing that if you were to tell him that his prices were off the Richter scale then all you'd cop is a mouthful of abuse. It's strange how all these sort of people are the staunch abusive type and believe that it's the rest of the world that's lost the plot.
Cheers, BB.
I live a 24 Hour lifestyle, but every now and again I seem to fall asleep, well at least that's what my wife tells me.
I could do with a few thumb latch catchers but that price is a bit much for me. I have half a dozen high arch alloy base mowers here but I don't have catchers for them. I can fit Rover catchers to them but I am short of those as well

There is always some sort of Achilles heel with old Victas if it isn't rotting steel bases or damaged front wheels or a tiny 1cm needle causing failure of the engine, it's thumb latch catchers that disintegrate and crack well before the alloy base cracks or wears in the left hand edge or where the axles locate.

Yes it is a pity to throw out perfectly good ally bases just because I don't have catchers, at least I can put the motors onto utilitys, now I have to find more utility bases
One high arch I got last night apparently had an argument with a backhoe and the backhoe won, base is a bit of a mess so it doesn't bother me about throwing it out.
Another thing with alloy bases is sandy soil actually erodes them from within. I used to notice the inside of the late 70s Mustang my dad used for odd mowing jobs would always have a clean silver finish from all the sand blasting going on inside. Even then, I was concerned about this on the soft metal and thought a steel deck would be better suited to those conditions. My fears were confirmed when I saw as online picture of an alloy base hi arch Victa from the same era where years of this sand blasting effect had made long thin openings all along the base like a knife.

He wants that sort of stupid money and the best he can do is take a photo of a phone laying on a table with an image displayed on it ????
Oh my God, what is this new generation coming to ??
I've included the photo below from the "actual listing" as the link Norm has provided will no doubt expire after many months with no one buying it at a ridiculous $2000 figure.

G'day all, this is an attempt at artistic licence ... The Queens are a mower fit for royalty. I agree, photos of the actual mower are essential for the asking price.
I might add, the catcher colour is clearly incorrect for this machine. Why would anyone do that?
