OK, so I'll kick off a thread for my upcoming resto smile
Have managed to get a new coil cover, which is great!
Just need to get the paint colours matched and should be good to go.
Also have to sort the height adjustment handle...mine is missing bits, so I hope to find out how it operated and maybe make the missing section, unless of course someone has a bunch of Boundy parts stashed away? laugh

Picking up some other info as I find it,
Fuel can and a '59 Model brochure.
Looking at the brochure I can see mine is not a 1959 model anyway smile

Not so, Vmow.
I know that brochure and it is misleading.

In very late 1958 the Diaphramatic air-cleaner appeared in newsprint.
In early 1959 Boundy took out full-page newsprint ads featuring the new air-cleaner.
This leads me to believe that the 1959 range brochure was produced in mid-late
1958 but before the new air-cleaner was specified.

The Diaphramatic system was standard fitment on 1959 BMS engines.
[fitted to lawnmowers]

Why the late change for the 1959 range?
Best guess, to beat Victa at their own game. Victa would retaliate with their new
paper element air-cleaner in late 1959!

Pace was clearly in Victa's sights at this time.
But ... Boundy was number three!!! [Best guess].

Note the change in factory advertising between October and December 1958.
Note the copy in the March, 1959 advert.

Hope this helps.

Yeah it's a curly one smile
The Series 10 appear to all have the Chrome badging on the engine cowl and there also seems to be a different starter?
Still haven't measured mine, but if it's 18" then the height adjuster is different too? Then there's the muffler which is different.
Grabbed this old Brochure as well laugh

Hello Vmow
A couple of points here:-

Your machine will be an 18" machine.
Also, Boundy did play around with the single point height adjuster.

I love these Women's Weekly adverts.
They employed the very best artists. Great industrial art!

Believe it or not, but Boundy dropped the Lawn Patrol name for a couple
of years - there were the years of the 15" Lawn Cub; the 18" Lawn Scout.
It is easy to speculate why this occurred...

In the final years there was just the Lawn Patrol - in 15"
and 18" widths.

Boundy offered probably Australia's first electric mower starter on a
domestic lawnmower! ... with the BMS engine. It was an accessory.

Not quite what one may think ... the starter could take a corded-electric KBC hand drill.
[Adelaide's KBC was a big electric drill maker of the day]
see https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/90543/kbc-lawnmower-c1956.html

There is more to be said about the great Boundy lawnmowers.
It's work in progress for me. laugh
Thanks to you for keeping the topic alive!

Cheers
