Hello ODK History Lovers
By the mid-1960s Turner was heading towards great things.
Turner's line-up for 1966 was impressive and Turner was one of the TOP SIX
lawnmower makers of that decade.

This Manual covers the Turner D66, J66, and S66 series lawnmower models for 1966.
Respectively: The Deluxe 4-stroke; the Coronet 2 and 4 strokes; and the Sapphire 2 and 4 strokes.



This wasn�t Turners full line-up for 1966.
Turner, in conjunction with the great NZ maker, Morrison, would also offer
Turner-Morrisons for 1966. Also note Turner's own Self-Propelled �



In other words, The Manual covered here only deals with a part of the 1966 range.
In this manual, the most exciting � and bizarre � new model for 1966 would be the Turner Sapphire.

The Sapphire�s production life would be short-lived and it is a rare model today.
Ever seen one? Note the inboard rear wheels � how odd!

The Sapphire appears to have been Turner�s first attempt at making a high-arch lawnmower �
but how odd and overly complex a design. It would survive just two seasons.

But Turner would get it right in late 1967, when they would introduce the revolutionary
Turner Valiant, a game-changer that would influence all future Australian rotaries.
