Hi AVB,

I'm thinking he means a Victa VC-125 which was the little brother of the VC-160.

But in saying that I'm not to sure if I'm correct as this chap is trying to do an oil change in a 2 stroke ???? I feel only he can clarify this point as we all know 2 strokes don't require an oil change.

Cheers,
BB.

Well, lower priced brother would be more accurate as the mower body was the same size. Only the engine capacity was the little part, though the two engines looked the same size to the casual observer. The smaller engine also performed quite well compared to the 160 and you barely noticed the difference, except for more challenging lawns.
Yeah, I was confused by the post. Is it some four stroke of 125cc capacity, and not a Victa 125 which is the first thing you think of when 125 or 160 is mentioned?

Ahh, if only victa had kept producing the thumblatch catcher series, they would be in better shape today!

G'day tubes,
Are you referring to the 125cc Model 5 Victa 18 you pictured in this thread? https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/u.../identifying-model-number.html#Post87496

If so, that is a 2-stroke engine [as per the heading of this forum section], and runs a 'petroil' fuel mix, not an oil sump [4-strokes have those].
Don't try to run it on straight petrol!

The correct mix for these is 1 part 2-stroke oil to 25 parts petrol, by volume. E.g for each litre of petrol, add 40 mL of oil - mix this in the fuel can.
Be sure to use only non-ethanol petrol, even if you have to go to 95 Premium grade to get it.

Cheers,
Gadge

Well at least you know to ask first and you did come to a good place to get the correct answers. I had a feeling it was a 2 stroke being you're in Australia. Everything get oiled via the fuel as it travels through the entire crankcases.

BTW no question is dumb when asked, just those that don't get asked.
