Hi all Recently got my hands on a Lawn King (in pieces) I currently have a few SB45s on the go but never paid too much interest to other variants (usually stock standard 45s) Could anyone help with history, ID and advise if there is anything special or rare about this one ?
Basically the Lawn King was a shop branded version for chain stores of the Model 45.
It gave you a smaller engine, Pram style handle bar and a bright Pacific Blue paint job which differentiated it from the normal Scott Bonnar machine. It was cheaper than the standard Green Scotty. There was also a "Craftsman" which was much the same thing.
Mechanically it's all the same.
Cheers, BB.
I live a 24 Hour lifestyle, but every now and again I seem to fall asleep, well at least that's what my wife tells me.
Yes, they have become like driving a classic Rolls -as in roller mower. This Lawn King is like the Victa Monaro in being a store brand made to appear like a dinky di SB model. Did they go as far as labels saying Made for [insert chain store] by Scott Bonnar Ltd ?
Ahh, if only victa had kept producing the thumblatch catcher series, they would be in better shape today!
