That mower is very, very similar to the 1949 12" ATCO I used to have, except for adding the land-roll clutch
and the strange device you mentioned for smoking the sprockets on the hoof. I wonder if most of the parts
were sourced on ATCO?

Hello Grumpy

That's a $64,000 question. My best response is this:

There are two Australian lawnmowers of interest in having 'that Atco Look'.
These are the Mobilco and the Austral-Villiers Everyman.

The Powerhouse museum says that the Austral Villiers was made "to British design patent"
http://www.powerhousemuseum.com/collection/database/?irn=87203

I suspect that the Mobilco has a similar story ... But I think I can say
that even though both Australian machines are 'in the style of Atco', no parts
are interchangeable. They just look similar.

However, I have not been able to confirm this.

Here is the Everyman:-

Well i managed to grab one off these off evilbay and its only 2 mins from home!!!- I can say i've had the AV and Atco but these seem plentiful as opposed to the mobilco (first one ive seen for sale ). Will get some photos once i get it home

As requested. land roll Clutch is leaps and bounds better, and the auto chain lube is very odd. Had the opportunity to buy the matching manual but remember seeing one here

No technical issue with the forum. When pictures are posted they need to end with .jpg etc. so they can be viewed.

It appears that they were resized and when this was done they did not include the extension.

Correct is:

That's a nice find there Millzy
They do not appear at auction much at all.
It's great to see the catcher (in great condition) survived too.

Hello Ross!
Wrong forum for this.

'Wanted' is the best forum for this.

This is a 65-year-old machine, but catchers do appear
from time-to-time.

It's a waiting game ...

Cheers
Jack
