im not sure if my lawn hornet is a mkii or mkiii (as its night-time and i cbf going under the house to look)

anyways.
whenever i try to start the motor with the choke on (as per the faded instructions on the whipper-snipper), no matter how hard i yank on the pull cord it will not start.
i have to start it on partial and even if i start on partial and then snap it to choke the motor will stall.

runs great other than that.

advice?

I was thinkin... wen u put the choke on.. its to give a rich fuel mixture right and reduce air intake. so mebe thers not enough air getting in with the choke on. could it be the air filter that needs looking at?
The bloody thing was serviced like 6 months ago (cuz before that it had sat in the garage for about 10 years or something according to my dad). even after service starting on choke was a bitch

drunkees,

What did they do when they serviced the trimmer. I would be saying if it has been sitting for 10 years you will need to replace the carby diaphrams as they would be stiff and not giving the correct fuel mix.

Anyway let us know what they did and I can give you abetter answer on how to fix the unit. cheers2

drunkees,

Ok then I would suggest that you replace the diaphrams and spark plug first off. Just make sure that you have clean fresh fuel when you try to start the old girl up. cheers2

Hi Calvin, The prob here was not the price of the'actual'upper flex drive, but the fact was you can't buy just the flex drive, you have to purchase the whole upper tube assembly, which contains the flex drive......That's Ryobi for ya!! mad Hope it's better for you in the States, mate.....
