Hi everyone

My current victa 18 project is nearing completion, I'm looking for an alternative to the ridiculously price original wheels. Does anyone know of some wheels that work as well without the crazy price tag? I'm having trouble finding any victa wheels around my area let alone some that will fit. Would be grateful for any readily available suggestions. Definitely don't need to look original just be functional.

I would think those axle stubs will accept any Victa wheels made until recent.
You want to choose a style sympathetic to the vintage of the machine though!!

Ahh, if only victa had kept producing the thumblatch catcher series, they would be in better shape today!

Those are the ones I had in mind. Shame the stubs need to be changed.
Are you sure you want to put it to use after all the work you have done?

I can make a sleeve for the axle to get them to fit right.
Mowerfreak although lots of work has gone into it I still want to use it won't see any real hard work, I get alot of enjoyment out of using the mowers I collect. If it gets chipped or damaged I'll just fix her up.

Oh it's harder than I thought. Maybe Norm has some?

I have a set of 4 grey Utility wheels but it'd be rather hard to cut the lawn if I took them off!

Another possibility is Rover wheels, but they may be a different size as well.

I have plenty of Victa wheels but as is always the case with the 2 stroke ones they are always trashed, no tread left, plastic rings broken, can't find 4 of the same. Rover and Masport use the 1/2 inch axle but I'm not sure how the axle length compares.
Something I have been contemplating getting but not sure what bushes would be needed are these, super cheap and just up the road from me. Not sure if they have any 6 inch ones

The Powertorque we have had since new doesn't have any tread left either. It usually only gets to cut/slash the veggi garden once every 3-4 weeks.

However, the Rover Thoroughbred catcher mower has done the same amount of work hasn't worn down the wheels. The plastic is a lot harder on the Rover and they don't get subjected to the vibration like a 2 stroke though. Can't say the same about the silly plastic Briggs fuel tank however�

My wheels arrived today very happy with how they look and fit. They do require spacers the stub axles are a little long for them. But all and all happy with the result. Way better then paying the rip off price people want for originals.

I feel this is a very sensible solution to the problem of restoring
these early Victas - without paying extortionate prices for repro wheels.

You are right you don't need tread on a mower wheel, but without it they look like they have done a million miles and look tired. But you are right it doesn't effect the performance, just apperance
