I'm fixing my fathers Ariens self propelled mower for my grandson to use on his mowing round, he will be able to tell people he is using his great grand fathers mower, hard to believe isn't it. They are a well built mower, apparently been built for over 30 years with only motors and wheel changes. I guess if you get something right, why change it
Hi Capn, no it is just like a standard mower 20 inch cut but you have to adjust the wheels individually. I will get a pic of it shortly. My father bought it about 27 years ago and it doesn't look any different to any of the current type of self propelled mowers, just probably a bit stronger. The drive is so simple compared to the stupid/fragile gearboxes they put in the Honda/Victas etc. If I was a lawn mowing contractor I would seriously look at one of these
Ah ok yeah would be great to see see some pictures of it . Ive only seen one other before it was fitted with a kohler engine and was set up like a zero turn mower . I think at the end of the day you cant beat simple for reliability which is what you need if your couting on it every day.
Victa Utility 509 in line for resto. Scott bonnar model 33 already in pieces. Atco reel mower unknown model is 4 stroke
Finally got around to getting a pic of the Ariens, great machine I removed the side chute and made up a blanking plate for the side because the original had gone awol
