Hello ODK History Lovers
IF someone was to ask me what was the best garden ride-on lawnmower that I have used
then I would unequivocally say Gravely. I liked their engineering prowess, their
quality, and their usability.

The North American Gravely is one of the great lawnmower manufacturers. They have a
long history of sales in Australia, having been sold here since the 1930s. Gravely
celebrated their 100 Years in business in 2016.

This is a pocket-size brochure dating from 1974 when Gravely was owned by the
Studebaker Corporation. The brochure is a nice summary of Gravely machines offered at
that time. Gravely were at the top-end of the market, offering solid, well-built machines.

A unique feature of Gravelys was that they offered an all-gear drive garden tractor.
The engine was directly coupled to the 8-speed gear box, with external friction
clutches for forward and reverse.

Their two-wheel tractors also sold here and proved popular with municipal councils.
They, like their four-wheel counterparts, took a number of accessories: cultivators,
mowers, carts, dozer blades, tillers, brushes ...

Today, Gravely is an Ariens Company.
