Hello
ODK History Lovers
Queensland's
Rover Mowers were a formidable force in lawnmowers by the 1970s.
They had an Australia-wide distribution network and a full range of lawnmowers -
rotaries, reels, ride-ons ... and some other good power garden equipment ... their
Edger and popular Shredder, and their aging Tiller-Mower.
This is a difficult brochure to date, but it certainly is
early 1970s. The
offerings indicate a range in
transition from the older 1960s designs to fresher
1970s designs. The flagship rotary was the
Model 27 Regal, a top-end 19" high-arch
machine of the new school.

Rover's best-seller rear catcher machine remained the ageing mid-arch
Model 26 Challenger. Of particular note is the move to a high-arch side discharge design in
the form of the new
19" Prince Model 121 and
Model 131, fitted with plastic catchers.
Contrast that with the ageing (but respected)
Model 32, with its heavier all-metal catcher.
A similar situation with the ride-ons. Fresher designs with the
Colt and
Rancher II,
but the venerable (and rugged)
Ranger was by now showing its age. Note the vinyl
covered foam seats.
