Decided to get started on one of the 45's in the top shed.
I shall post photos as & when...
I have got a site at the Bendigo swap meet in November & have decided to take this one & possibly the Rover to sell, so I'm determined not to become attached...

G'day John
That reel looks like it has had little wear.
Perhaps it has never had a grind.

I think the model sticker signifies that it was made when
NZ's Challenge Corp. owned SB - after sale from Flymo, but
before Rover's involvement.

A very good, original machine.

Hi John,

This one looks to be a rather straight forward rebuild as it's not a flogged out machine from what limited views you've given us.
Can you please give us the sequence of numbers stamped into the engine cowl adjacent to the carby.

Hi John,

Thanks for the additional info,

At a guess I'd say your mower was assembled around April ~ May of 1978 as the engine was built on the 19th of December 1977 and one must take the Christmas shut down and shipping from the USA over to Australia during the Christmas period into account. I'd strongly argue that the engine probably didn't even leave the USA until early 1978. This ties in with the sticker ID that was started around late 1977 and also that it's an Apple Green coloured machine.

I could quite easily become attached to this machine but not the Rover.

Cheers,
BB.
