I decided to give my cruiser a bit of a clean up. There are a few bits missing and the drive chain has been shortened to make it a push mower so I doubt if the engine works. Thought I would share some pics. If it isn't in the pics it is missing, ie side cover, catcher and clutch assy.

Hi Geoff
These are so rare today. The styling is an all-time favourite.
I don't think the chain has been shortened.
That idler sprocket was part of the reduction gearing to the landroll.

For this to have been converted to a push mower would still require
the operation of the clutch - to provide power to the reel.

I know this because, as a silly teenager, I converted mine...
[it later went to the dump mad]

I hope the parts you need can be found.
The other Mobilco reel was in the neo-Atco style, and a number of
those survive. The Cruiser, though, is super rare.

I gather then that the engine would drive to the reel first, so that chain is missing. I don't suppose anyone can supply a picture of what hides under the cover and of the cover so I can possibly make something to suit.

The person who gave this to me said it was a dangerous thing, so maybe the problem was with the clutch, so when you started it, it wanted to run you over! That is to say that the clutch didn't want to release properly so it was always wanting to drive.

G'day Geoff

I hope a member will come forward with a transmission image.
The under cover flap was intended as a sort of tool box.

Yes, the primary chain is missing.
Yes, it sounds like it had a 'sticking' landroll clutch.

These are wonderful and rare lawnmowers.
