Hi, if I want to load my 40kg Rover 45 into my the tray of my Nissan Navara what would you use? I've read that ramps are the way to go. Not sure if they meant metal or wood, or if a trailer with a ramp is the way to go. One person said the mower will slip on metal ramps. It has enough trouble going uphill on wet grass. Any ideas?

I always use a wooden ramp due to the issue you mention or a second person if available, but always ensure that the ramp will not slip backwards otherwise it's curtains for both yourself and the machine.
Cheers, BB.
I live a 24 Hour lifestyle, but every now and again I seem to fall asleep, well at least that's what my wife tells me.

Thanks BB. I dont want to see curtains. What sort of wood will stop spinning and what do you to stop the ramp sliding away?

I sorted my problem by buying one alloy loading ramp, rated at 300kg or so, from a trailer place and adding Polyweld rubber (what it is holding your roof trim and carpet trim inside the door jams of your car) from Clark rubber to its rails.
I can either push the mower up myself or start the engine and run it up. It doesn't slip and has great grip. The ramp folds in half and fits in the beck of my 4 X 4 with all the other lawn mowing gear.
