Where do you find these rarities?
My nan had a 160cc 2 stroke with this base and catcher in blue but badged as Pace.
I have never seen that style of blue catcher with Victa on it.

Ahh, if only victa had kept producing the thumblatch catcher series, they would be in better shape today!

I picked this up from a second hand store for $40 and it still runs! All I have done is resprayed it with gloss white and marine blue which is close to its original colour. My parents had one of these back in the 70,s and I can remember mowing the lawn with it.The catcher is original as far as I know, all I have done to it is resprayed it and highlited the logo in white. Also I have redone the handles with chrome spray paint.

Hello Hermosil

I think I can help on information.

The model type and Code on the engine will give a more accurate
build date, but this machine dates to about 1980.

It was a well-speced machine as the price indicates.

Hope this helps.

Am I seeing things or is that Mayfair without an engine cowling?
Were these models depicted exclusively sold in certain stores?
Just imagine the spellbinding array of variants Victa churned out in those days.
Any other gems from this period we can link to CyberJack?

You certainly have done a nice job on your Corvette, I would say I have its 2 stroke stable mate

I think this is the engine used on the shroud less Mayfair, turned on an updated base

Hi Paul, as a manufacturer how could they consider it a product for sale like that, it looks like some back yard chuck together, about as good as an office chair on a ride on, "oh we needed something and this will work"

Nan's Pace had that exact style of white top and the wheels were the type as seen on your topless Mayfair with the grotesque looking (but very practical) catcher.
