Hullo & Happy NY to all.
This is my first post, so by way of introduction ....
I have been able to gather 4 reel mowers together & have decided to start on the restoration journey. like so many others I have been an observer for a while and am still uncertain of how to post successfully. I rescued my Rover 45 out of a paddock earlier this year, where it had been discarded & lay unloved for about 4 years that I know of. I did a quick clean and pull down to recall how it worked (I had often watched dad do the same with his SB on various occasions, years ago). The Rover appears to be none the worse for its misadventures and after a clean up and quick paint to kill the rust, it is awaiting a complete pull down. The Supercut is another story and was rescued out of a chook shed on a small farm. No work on her yet (I'm certain that she is a "her".) The other machines are both SB - a 45 and an electirc reel which I have yet to bring home
I am looking forward to interaction with the forum members and am convinced that I will have plenty of questions.
Thanks for your time
When I figure out how, I shall post a couple of photos

Hi John,

Firstly a huge welcome from us here at the ODK Forums. You're definitely in great hands here.

I'm looking forward to seeing plenty of photos of the two machines you've managed to secure. To be truthful I've never seen a Rover 45 in the paddock for 4 years, only old Holdens and associated vehicles left out on the farm paddocks to slowly lower themselves into the ground.

For posting photos onto your listing follow the instructions in the link provided underneath.

I must admit that I feel rather sceptical about the condition of the Rover as it would've been a Powder Coated machine and many of those are dead ducks prior to any work being attempted on them.

Anyway lets move forward and see what you've got there.

Cheers,
BB.

Thanks, BB.

Any way of making that link clickable?

Funny you should mention that as normally all one has to do is take out the "s" at the end of https:// and it will become a clickable link but for some unknown reason it's not happened as I intended. Maybe Mod CyberJack might be able to help out on this small issue as he's the IT guru here.

In the meantime could you please just copy and paste the link into your browser and it should work that way.

Cheers,
BB.

Isn't that a restored sb 45? It's in good nick. The super cut 20 is more than likely from a bowling club where electric was preferred over petrol for obvious reasons. Looks like it is single clutch. Petrol ones had two clutches if I'm correct.

Hi John,

If that Model 45 was found in a paddock after 4 years can you please point me in the right direction to that paddock as I'd like to go for a wander through it and see what you might have missed.

Yes the Electric Supercuts only had a land roll clutch as the reel started to spin when it was switched on by the electric switch on the handlebar.

Cheers,
BB.

Yes, at least 4 years. I neglected to take any photos when I got it as it was just one more thing that had been rescued & was supposed to take 2nd place to the Land Rover which is in bits in the shed. It was in the 20 odd acres across from us for at least that length of time and completely unwanted. Didn't look quite as good as it now does, but its all window dressing really. I have only linished the rust off the handle bars and front roller so they will need redoing in time ($295 to chrome the handle bars at Lonsdale) - I intend to commence the rebuild in the coming weeks. Will post photos now I know how. J aussie
