Im just failing to understand what your even trying to achieve here. You start the engine in Start/Choke, you run the engine in Run. If your emptying the catcher you might idle it. What more control do you need? It is designed to run at its governed 3100-3300rpm, not lower.

Is this cam mod going to fix an over revving engine, No. Why the hell would it? That probably has something to do with all the other rubbish we've spruked about. Can't wait to see the results of the free carb modifications your offering to members in the other threads.

Not interested in discussing it with you Dan, we now have a number of these motors now running beautifully and I might get a chance today to get a couple more working as they should have from day 1

Speaking for myself without evidence of what NormK says about the carby,I did not wish to further discuss it,Quote "when you move the cable to the engine stop position the three leg piece drops
into the deep v allowing the poppet to go wide open, but you do not notice this because in that position the ignition has been cut,so the motor stops, if you have the ignition wires disconnected
it will go full revs.My idea is to file a slope between the start position and the run position so that a gentle transition can be achieved with the poppet from closed to open and this does away
with the governor which effectively does not work."
The images I posted showed the poppet valve could not be fully open when throttle control is in the off position,
in this image the texta mark on the cam and where the texta points to on the carby body show the fully stopped position, the cam cannot rotate any more in an anti clockwise direction and the 3 leg piece
cannot drop into the deep V.
I did not comment on the the cam profile you drew because I knew it would not work, that cam is all ready designed into the plastic,it' [Linked Image]
s made to match with the air valve at a certain throttle control.
Putting ramps in that do not match the air valve position is a wast of time.If you wish to prove
your redesigned cam profile works you would have to connect your mower up to a exhaust
analyzer machine and compare your readings at all different throttle speeds ,without doing this,
trying to redesign the carby is a wast of time.
Just my opinion and I think people can pursue what they like but proving something is believing.
