Hello
ODK History Lovers
The
Rover Regal was
Rover Mowers top-of-the-line residential lawnmower for the 1970s.
This record covers only the original
Model 27 chassis, even though 'Regal' is still
a model name used by the current owners of Rover today.
Its 19" cutting width combined with a high-arch chassis put it above other models
in the conservative name, range lineage (Prince, Regent, Baron, Pedigree, and
Thoroughbred).
It was powered by at least three different
Briggs & Stratton engines: the 148cc 3.5hp;
the 187cc 4hp; and the 206cc 5hp. All engines had a higher specification:
Hushtone muffler, dipstick, air filter, and chrome bits. There is also good evidence that
Kirby and
Villiers 2-strokes also powered the Regals.
