I'm running various size Briggs from Quantum 5hp up to Diamond 13hp. Am I right in using only SAE 30 in all of them and not using multi-grade?

I believe that you are correct in using SAE30. I used a multi grade in a 14HP Briggs through ignorance mad and totally wrecked the engine. The B&S oil is supposed to be the best to use and I can tell you that in Townsville it is available from Adrian Trading in Bolam St. in 20 litre drums. cheers2 Gazza
