The angular styling and first model Quantum suggest mid-late 1980s...
an interpretation of James Bond's Lotus Esprit I guess.

Not an overly handsome machine.

The boring angular concrete and mower contrasted against
the circular, radiating flywheel cover and ornate stand.

That one has a Series 1 Briggs Quantum engine [roughly 1987-9], going by the central mount oil dipstick. 175cc, 3.5hp.

We can narrow the engine manufacture date down, if you can post the Model/Type/Code numbers stamped on the cowling above the spark plug.
