Hello all. I have decided to get this mower running as new. as i have a spare i can swap parts. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2016/05/full-9141-28522-dscf7166.jpg) the rust had gotten to all the moving parts so a few days of work to get functioning again. question for the shop. do you have any of these height adjuster plastic boot things?? ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2016/05/full-9141-28523-dscf7168.jpg) one more quicky, is this motor supposed to rev as high as it does?? never had one rev so high. thanks sean

Hey man the hight adjuster segment come up on eBay every now and then I use them with restorations but if I'm going to use the mower I usually use a screw and nut with the thread flattened on each side so it fits in the hight notches . As far as the teeing goes it may have a stripped governor gear or may just need adjusting to factory setting which isn't hard I would post the instructions but they are packed away at the moment I'll see if I've got a carby I can demonstrate on

G'day folks, This machine will have a 3L carby, which isn't governed. Don't know that there was ever a full throttle RPM spec for these, but that for the later G3 governed carb models is 3800-4200rpm.
As tomo4192 says, your best chance for a height adjuster segment is a NOS one on FleaBay - after all this is a ~50 year old mower! It comes in a set with the handle cover.
There's one up there now, ending Sunday. Plug 'vintage victa height' into the search window there to find it.
Cheers, Gadge

thanks for the input fellas. i recon i will go with tomos idea, after. well how can i say this. i failed to check the exhaust port before attempting to start, with a drill. after blowing the gasket i found the exhaust port half blocked with really hard crap. so i will get to work pulling it all apart and making a new gasket, and i thought it was an easy fix(all in need to do is fix the height adjuster)wheels, ect HAHA 4 days of work. why do i do it? my next victim ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2016/05/full-9141-28553-dscf7173.jpg) sorry all but the winter line of crotchetted overalls has sold out thanks sean
