Apprentice level 2
|
I've acquired an older Rover shredder with a B&S 5hp model 130902 type 1175 01 & am wondering how to judge the oil level. There is no dipstick, just the drain plug coming out of the sump with no level indicator. There is an attachment to hook up a hose fitting of some kind, looks after market, as part of the drain point.

There should be a plastic plug next to the fuel tank, which is where you put oil in. Oil level must be up to that point (800ml)

Redeye, I agree with MST but one thing that he did not add was the oil type which should be SAE-30 grade oil not a multi grade type otherwise it will cause more ware in the motor and reduce the life.
