I have a Victa Lawnmaster Quattro 40 and it has developed a problem - hopefully someone can assist.
1. When cold it takes 20-30 pushes to prime fuel unless the fuel tank is full and it primes almost immediately. 2. It tends to race (fast then slow) 3. When the tank is half full it stops.
Lately the fast /slow racing is more pronounced and after a couple of mins it just stops altogether.
I have changed the spark plug and fuel. Fuel is correct mix. Fuel flow is OK

Allynook, You will need to clean out the tank as well as clean the carby jets to start with. I would suggest that you get some carby cleaner as well.

You will need to also replace the carburettor diaphragm while you have it apart.

Thank you to both of you for your prompt reply. Knowing nothing about mowers, I will at least have a starting point and will get the part. Hopefully it will be pretty straightforward.
