Much to my chagrin I disassembled my neighbour's pull start assy without noting where everything came from. Can anybody help me with an exploded parts diagram?
I am unsure about the order of the small spring, nylon washer, pulley & steel washer at the centre.
Regards.

Hi Kimbo777, and welcome to the forum.
Off the top of my head, put the pulley in place and the order should be spring, nylon washer, metal washer, bolt. If not then its nylon washer, spring, metal washer, bolt.
Let us know how you go.

Thanks bigted.
This is on a Rover Easytrim Xtra i4500.
I think you'll agree that a picture is worth a thousand words.
With the nylon washer under the screw head the mechanism tends to bind up.
As per photo it works & the old scratch marks roughly line up.
I think I will put some "Loctite nutlock" on the thread during reassembly.
Do you think it is better to use a silicon spray ,a grease or WD40 on the spring & centre assy to keep it free in dusty conditions?

The throttle cable bracket at the engine is an enigma. I only mention this to prevent other owners from slashing their wrists in frustration.
Twice I have set up the cable travel & each time the bracket has bent over 9 months.
Perhaps there is a man-cave secret somewhere.
I'll pursue that later but now I'm prating (look it up)

Many thanks

You can loctite the screw if you wish but don't use anything on the moving parts, you need friction to make it work to throw the pawls out when you pull on the starter.
Agreed, the throttle plate and associated bits are cheap and flimsy, on an otherwise decent engine, which have a tendency to contort and bend out of shape after a few months of use. Unfortunately there is no easy fix for this, just bend it all back into shape.
